AVI Healthcare won Third Prize at the 2nd International Congress on Emergency Medical Service Systems (EMS 2013) and the 2nd International Conference on Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Healthcare (IEH 2013), held from 18–20 October 2013 at AIIMS, New Delhi. 

Organised by the Department of Hospital Administration, AIIMS, in collaboration with the Center for Health Systems Innovation, Spears School of Business, and the Center for Health Sciences, Oklahoma State University, USA, the conference served as a global platform for healthcare leaders, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and industry partners to showcase technologies that improve healthcare delivery and emergency medical services.

As part of the conference, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Awards 2013 recognised outstanding products and technologies that addressed real-world healthcare challenges. AVI Healthcare received the third prize in the Emergency Medical Service Systems category for its TransNANO Transport Incubator, an indigenous neonatal transport solution designed to provide a safe and thermally controlled environment for newborns during intra-hospital and inter-hospital transfers.

This recognition highlighted AVI Healthcare’s commitment to developing practical, indigenous medical technologies that strengthen neonatal emergency care and improve patient outcomes.

TransNANO Transport Incubator

The TransNANO Transport Incubator received the Third Prize for its innovative design that enables the safe and efficient transport of newborns during intra-hospital and inter-hospital transfers. The incubator provides a stable thermal environment while remaining compact, lightweight, and easy to transport.

Designed with portability in mind, the TransNANO can be carried by a single person without requiring a trolley and is compact enough to fit even in small vehicles and ambulances. The system features low power consumption, battery operation through a vehicle power socket, provision for an oxygen cylinder and flow meter, and convenient access doors and portholes for continuous patient care during transport. These features make it particularly valuable in emergency situations where uninterrupted neonatal support is essential.

Receiving the Award at the Emergency Medical Service Systems & Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Healthcare 2013 conference reinforced AVI Healthcare’s vision of developing indigenous medical technologies that improve patient care through practical engineering.
